Winemaker Jean-Pierre Wolff's tasting notes on current vintages

2008 Chardonnay Old Vine
Our Chardonnay has a forward nose of fragrant tropical fruit, ripe pineapple and guava, with smooth buttery undertone. It is well balanced with citrusy acidity on light toasted oak and has a long and elegant finish.

2007 Dry Riesling
This Riesling is made in a dry Alsatian style with fruity, flowery and spicy flavors with cool climate acidity on a crisp finish.

2007 Pinot Noir
Our Pinot Noir has a bright red fruit profile with a nice strawberry jam and black cherry aroma. Smooth and round interlaced with a hint of raspberry and white pepper. Good acid backbone, well focused on the finish with light toasted oak and some tannins

2007 Syrah
Our Syrah has deep berry and spice aroma. Black cherry and ripe plum provides concentrated flavors layered with pepper. The tannins are refined providing a nice texture with full-bodied finish and toasty oak nuances.

2008 Petite Sirah
A full body inky dark red wine with ripe and extracted flavors. It is generous in stewed plum and roasted black cherry flavors. Exhibits cool climate influenced crushed white pepper and spice tones. The finish has well defined tannins with toasted oak.

2008 Teroldego
Our Teroldego, a rarely grown grape in the U.S., is a dark inky red, seriously lively and fruity wine with relatively low tannins and soft acidity for early drinking. This Italian-Tyrolean grape performs its trick almost exclusively in the Northeastern part of Italy near Bolzano, and our Edna Valley Vineyard. Due to an extremely low production, our 2008 vintage has been reserved for our wine club members only

2007 Brixie's Red
Brix is the sugar content of grapes; our family dog is a sweet female pure bred black lab. We thought appropriately to call her Brixie! Brixie's Red is a celebration of our happy vineyard dog. We blended Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from selected barrel lots to produce a big, friendly red wine.
